Booking Holdings, Inc. is seeking a Communications Manager to join the Global Communications team. The successful candidate will take a driving role in the team for co-developing and executing global earned media strategy, social media and internal communications initiatives and events. The successful candidate should have strong media relations skills, particularly across U.S. and global English-language meda, including business, technology and trade media, experience leading corporate and executive social media strategies, content and community management for leading corporate organizations, and in thought leadership positioning. Highly organized and results-driven, this person should also have experience working with global spokespeople and business leaders, be comfortable working in a fast-paced high-tech organization, and have co-managed crisis and issues communications responses across multiple markets. This person has the opportunity to have an impact in devising and driving critical initiatives within the Communications organization and will be a contributor to the success of the Communications function. The Manager will report to the Director Global Communications and support key members of the Communications teams at Booking Holdings and its brands.
Responsibilities and Duties
Taking a leading role in executing the global Communications strategy for Booking Holdings, across corporate, trade and B2B PR, and among employees, as well as reputation, crisis and issues management.
Developing and drafting of key messaging, business critical media materials (including statements, QAs, op-eds), as well as presentation and speech materials for global (and regional) spokespeople and co-creating thought leadership positioning.
Working to improve the scale of proactive media engagement, including in-bound reactive media management, proactively identifying and creating news drivers, pitching interviews, and leveraging relevant trends to mobilize timely PR activations and materials.
Working with Legal, Compliance, Public Affairs, People, ESG, D&I and Brand Communications teams as needed to create a consistent communications strategy, cadence, events and assets for all internal and external stakeholders.
Taking ownership of executive speaker calendar, securing, supporting and maximizing speaker opportunities (externally and internally) for the company’s global spokespeople, and providing strong communications counsel as / when needed.
Measuring, evaluating and optimizing communications processes and output across the team to maximize impact against priority business objectives, drive effective implementation of internal communication calendar, and provide ever more efficient support to the cross-brand communications network.
Actively managing and assessing PR agencies and vendors to grow reputation and brand awareness, plus hiring and onboarding new suppliers as / when may be needed to strengthen overall capability of the organization and ensure compliance with disclosure, content and brand standards.
5-8 years of progressive communications experience e.g. media relations, communications strategy and campaign management, social media management, crisis and issues communications etc.
People oriented; strong relationship and stakeholder management skills, able to engage with people across all levels, and from diverse backgrounds, and navigate large global organizations
Strong understanding of business operations and financial communications, in addition to relevance in consumer media and social media
Highly organized with excellent planning skills. You take ownership and proactively solve problems, often before it reaches your manager.
Strong attention to detail, ability to act quickly, adapt to daily schedules and routines, and focus on efficiency without sacrificing quality.
Prior experience in a corporate and global communications environment – in-house or agency desired
Knowledge of the e-commerce and/or travel industries
Available to offer support outside of normal business hours, or travel, as required.
Strong technology skills are required.
Experience in Microsoft Suite, Gmail, and Google Docs platform; familiarity with communication tools like Slack, Zoom and BlueJeans.
Ability to work independently.
Ability to responsibly manage highly confidential and time sensitive information.
Advanced time management and analytical skills.
