Job Summary

Booking Holdings Financial Services Ireland, is looking for a Compliance Data Scientist with strong experience in Financial Services to act as a critical partner to our business, helping develop, launch, and enable our mission to deliver a world-class payments operation to support Booking Holdings Inc’s brands globally.

The Compliance Data Scientist  will assist in ensuring the systems used to perform Financial Crime Risk Management complies with laws, regulatory requirements, policies and procedures across Ireland and EEA business. You’ll report directly to the Chief Compliance Officer. 

Harnessing the strategic vision of the company this role will be responsible for establishing standards and implementing procedures to ensure that the Financial Crime Risk Management Systems throughout the organisation are effective and efficient in identifying, preventing, detecting and correcting noncompliance with applicable laws and regulations and producing useful management information to support the business as it continues to scale. Given the collaborative nature of the business you will be consistently business partnering with the product, operations, engineering and marketing teams to ensure you understand the intricacies of operations.

Key Responsibilities

The Compliance Data Scientist will be part of the Compliance team and be instrumental in ensuring the organisation meets its strategic objectives under the umbrella of the Booking Holdings Inc family of Brands, with a particular focus on the Ireland and EEA.

You will provide assurance to CCO that there are effective and efficient systems,  policies and procedures in place, well understood and respected by all employees, and that the company is complying with all regulatory requirements.  The Financial Crime  Data Scientist will:

  • Responsible for updating FCRM Tool per Compliance requirements as the FCRM Tool Administrator.

  • Data modeling prior to system implementation  

  • Writing reporting requirements with the FCRM System

  • Producing MI for Compliance reporting and Governance of System and associated processes

  • Managing change control requests for FCRM Tool and working with internal and external stakeholders to see these requests through to completion.

  • Assisting Regulatory Compliance and Compliance Ops on implementation of new rules and thresholds within the FCRM Tool

  • Working with Product Owner on Change Control requests

  • Management of User access control

  • Input and guidance into the Financial Crime Risk Management (FCRM) project and any other projects and initiatives that require financial crime expertise

  • Assist in Compliance related audits and responsible for System related Audits

Knowledge and Skills

  • Minimum 5  years Regulatory experience in a regulated financial services business.

  • Strong knowledge of Irish and EU financial services regulatory frameworks

  • The ability to prioritise activities and delegate to others both within the business and external partners

  • Experience in building out data reporting and building frameworks
