Job Overview

Booking Holdings Financial Services, is building out a finance team with experience within a regulated financial services environment, helping to deliver a world-class payments operation to support Booking Holdings Inc’s brands globally.

The company is seeking to hire a Financial Accountant into the team. Reporting to the Financial Controller the successful candidate will be part of a finance team  responsible for both the day to day financial operations of the Irish business as well supporting new business initiatives across the company.  

The  team will be responsible with ensuring BHFS is in compliance with all its regulatory and statutory responsibilities from a financial control and oversight perspective and will partner with both internal and external service providers to ensure a strong internal control environment.  

The team be accountable for the delivery of timely, complete and accurate financial statements and management reporting and supporting financial analysis,  and will support the local executive team in pursuit of the company’s objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the timeliness, completeness and accuracy of financial statements in accordance with general accounting and corporate standards.

  • Ensure all payment operations and treasury activities and associated reconciliation controls are completed in a timely and accurate manner.

  • Ensure all intercompany reconciliations are completed in a timely and accurate manner.

  • Delivery of local and corporate management reporting and financial analysis.

  • Support both Internal and External audit review processes.

  • Support  all  Statutory, Regulatory and Tax reporting for the business.

  • Support the  Accounts Payable and Inter-Company billing processes.

  • Budgeting and Forecasting. 

  • Partner with both internal and external service providers who support the business.

  • Support finance and accounting requirements of local Holding entity in Ireland.

  • Ensure a strong internal control environment within the finance function.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)

  • 3rd level degree or equivalent preferred

  • 5 plus years experience

  • Experience of working in regulated financial services.  Ideally within Payment Services but not essential.

  • Knowledge of IFRS, Irish Statutory & Tax reporting requirements.

  • Good knowledge of MS Office and Financial ERP (SAP) systems.

  • Excellent financial analysis skills

  • Excellent writing, communication, verbal and written, and organizational skills.

  • Eager to learn new technologies and ideas. Comfortable navigating complicated and nuanced issues.

  • Great interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a fast paced team environment.
