Technical Analyst

Job Summary

Develop a deep understanding of BHFS products and technology.  Assist in the successful delivery of business and technology projects in BHFS working with outsourced providers and third parties.  The successful applicant will apply critical thinking skills objectively, considering multiple angles to decision making and problem solving. They will play a key role in the development of technical  requirements and solutions – and in the support of testing, organization readiness and delivery of solutions in a Fintech, Regtech environment..

Key Responsibilities

  • Understand the technology, products and business of BHFS.

  • Develop knowledge of IT Ecosystems  & Connectivity.

  • Execute analysis, testing and deployment planning.

  • Work with Technical teams to confirm System and Testing requirements – recognise any technical gaps.

  • Gather business requirements from stakeholders and review existing ones to produce detailed business and technical requirement specification documents.

  • Facilitate workshops to lead team members in productive conversations to accurately identify risks, dependencies issues, resulting impact and resolution plans.

  • Collaborate with cross-business stakeholders and functional partners to define, drive and implement the BHFS strategy requirements.

  • Understand AML/KYC processes (strong advantage) including  client onboarding, screening, transaction monitoring.

  • Engage and manage stakeholders at all levels.

  • Break down complex problems and propose solutions.

  • Strong document-writing ability.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Bachelor’s in Computer Science or a similar technical based education.

  • 5yrs experience as a Technology Analyst or working in a technical field with an expert knowledge of technical requirements.

  • Technical experience and background is a must for this role.

  • Experience of working in a Financial Regulated Entity is required.

  • Experience in working in Payments is an advantage.

  • Strong experience in working with Agile methodologies and knowledge of JIRA and SCRUM.

  • Experience of working in a cloud environment.

  • Knowledge of Payments, File flows, Mapping & Specifications (Strong advantage).

  • Ability to work in a cross-functional matrix environment.

  • Knowledge of key programming languages 

  • An understanding of Data Analytics and how this fits in the tech ecosystem

  • Ability to Document Technically (Design Framework) the requirements of Business Shareholders.

  • Experience of delivering projects in regtech that follow the guidelines of the EBA/FCS/CBI.

  • Descriptive by various methods, examples; screen-shots, Wireframes, Visio diagrams, tables, language Grammatically and technically correct with a professional appearance.

  • System Analysis/Design broad knowledge of hardware, software and programming,Database Knowledge (mysql) +.

  • Jira; User Stories – working with Product Backlogs, understanding Value/Priorisation.

  • Strong analytical/issue resolution skills and attention to detail; ability to think clearly in challenging situations.

  • Able to work under own initiative and with little supervision.

  • Solution driven with a focus on delivery.

  • Excellent communicator; written and verbal.

  • Organised and methodical.

  • Knowledge of PSD2 and GDPR.
